Hot Honey Herby Ricotta Dip

Meet the easiest, quickest appetizer you'll want to serve at all your parties! This whipped ricotta dip is whipped smooth with lemon and fresh herbs. Every bite is light and airy with bright citrus notes for a perfectly cheesy dip.

Ingredients

  • 8oz full fat ricotta cheeee
  • 1-2 tbsp of Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • the juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tbsp hot honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (garnish)

Instructions

  1. To a food processor or a blender, add in all the ricotta cheese, Greek yogurt, fresh basil, lemon juice, 1 tbsp of the hot honey and olive oil and blend until smooth.
  2. You'll want to whip this together for about 1 minute this will help it thicken up! TIP: The Greek yogurt will help to thicken this dip! & I always recommend using full fat ricotta cheese for this as it not only tastes better for a dip but its thicker and less watery. If you use a low fat ricotta cheese it will be too watery for a dip.
  3. Add the whipped dip to a bowl and using the back of the spoon smooth it out in the bowl
  4. In a separate bowl heat 1 tbsp of hot honey in the microwave for 8 seconds until its a bit runny. Add that hot honey on the whipped ricotta dip!
  5. Grate on some lemon zest
  6. Enjoy with crackers and good company!

Notes

  • Make sure you use a full fat ricotta cheese
  • You can substitute the basil for other fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary if you'd like
  • You can use a regular honey instead of hot honey if you prefer something not so spicy
  • Put the dip in a sealed container for up to 4 days in the fridge and it will stay fresh!
