Garlic Butter Baked Brie Wreath
Going into the holiday season, there is nothing more delicious to serve up that baked brie cheese. It is quite simply the best melted cheese in the world! A simple appetizer to make and when baked, it becomes oozy and really has that wow factor at a dinner party.
Baked brie topped with garlic butter is the most savory appetizer to serve up, surrounded by little garlic butter doughy pillows to resemble a wreath- your guests will be blown away by the presentation and flavors of this! It is a must make during the holiday season, so add it to your list!
Ingredients for GARLIC BUTTER BAKED BRIE
Quality of brie cheese matters! I always recommend using a brie cheese that is French- brie cheese originated in France so if it is French you know it’s creamy, has notes of mushroom and will melt really well! When melted the cheaper brie cheeses can often pool with oil which means they aren’t the best quality and stuffed with fillers & additives. When making baked brie, spend a little bit more on the cheese to make sure it’s a quality one.
Brie cheese
Fresh garlic
Butter
Pizza dough (store bought or homemade)
Egg
Fresh Parsley
Fresh Rosemary
My favorite pans are USA pan - great quality and they never change color or warp on me. At such a great price point you can’t go wrong!
For the pizza dough, I used store bought but if you are feeling adventurous feel free to make it homemade or use Pillsbury crescent rolls- they will work well for this recipe too.
Always buy a good quality brie cheese! Brie originates in France so try to get one that says “made in France” or “made with French practices” on the label. It will be better quality and melt perfectly in the oven. I have found that the cheaper brie cheeses are not authentic and pool oil when baked. A quality French brie will be your go to this holiday season!

Garlic Butter Baked Brie
Ingredients
- 8 oz wheel of brie cheese
- 5 tbsp melted salted butter
- 2-3 cloves of minced fresh garlic
- Pizza dough (I used one store bought package)
- One egg (egg wash)
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Chopped fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 and put parchment paper on a baking sheet
- Add your brie cheese wheel in the middle of the baking sheet and score the top of it (create cross hatch cuts about ½ inch deep into the top of the brie cheese). Do not cut off the rind of the cheese- leave it on! This will ensure that your baked oozy cheese stays put in the center.
- Roll your pizza dough into small balls and add them around your brie cheese forming a wreath- you should be able to make two rows of pizza balls around the cheese. The dough balls should be lightly touching each other as you put them down.
- Brush your pizza dough balls with egg wash
- Mix together your minced garlic and melted butter and brush it onto your brie cheese and pizza dough balls (reserve some of the melted butter mixture for later)
- Top with fresh herbs- rosemary and parsley
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until dough balls start to get golden brown. TIP: if yours isn’t browning then turn up the heat to 450 for 3 minutes at the end
- Out of the oven, top with remining melted butter & garlic mixture and top with more fresh herbs and ENJOY warm!
TIP: after it bakes, add on some more of that garlic butter mixture and fresh herbs and then serve this appetizer right away!
Make sure you are using a good quality brie cheese! My favorite is anything French- look on the label at the grocery store and buy the one that is a few dollars more, it’s always worth it!
