Ingredients for Easter Carrot Cheese Ball
A cheese ball is a classic appetizer to serve up at any gathering! What makes this one special is that it is in the shape of a carrot and it actually LOOKS like a carrot. Although it does not taste like one at all. You’re guests are going to love this one at Easter lunch or brunch.
You will only need a few ingredients to make this recipe:
Cream cheese
Green onion
Everything but the bagel seasoning
Cheddar cheese
Parsley
How should I serve an Easter cheeseball?
With any cheeseball, you want to keep it cold. However, if you try to dig in right after you pull it out of the fridge, it’ll be too hard to enjoy. So, I suggest letting it sit out for at least 10 minutes at room temperature before serving so it can soften up and be easy to dip into.
What to serve the Easter cheeseball with?
I love serving this with buttery, salty cracker like Ritz! The just go together hand in hand. You could always serve alongside a warm baguette, crackers, veggies.
Ingredients:
Cream cheese- The base of any good cheese ball is cream cheese. It is a smooth, spreadable cheese that is light, mild and slightly tangy. It is very versatile to mix with sweet and savory ingredients for different recipes.
Green onion- This packs in a lot of flavor into that cream cheese! You’ll want to thinly slice your green onions to fold them into the cream cheese. I prefer this over a regular onion as it has a milder onions flavor. You could also use chives if you prefer!
Everything but the bagel seasoning- When this came out a few years back, I thought- GENIUS! It is the seasonings on top of an everything bagel but without the bagel! And when mixed with that cream cheese and onions- boy that flavor combination is just too good! You can purchase this at any grocery store or here on Amazon. I wouldn’t skip out on adding this one, it adds a lot of flavor to compliment the cream cheese.
Orange cheddar cheese- Now it is important for this recipe that you buy an orange cheddar because you want it to be the same color as a carrot. This will make the cheeseball look more carrot like on the outside. You could also use a marble cheese if that is all you can find. I like to shred mine very thinly (using the small side of my cheese grater- you know the side we rarely use lol).
Parsley- This represents the top of the carrot and really makes this cheeseball LOOK like a carrot. You could also use dill to create this fluffy green carrot top.
