Whipped Blue Cheese Butter
This rich bold compound butter mixture will have you in HEAVEN. The bold rich flavors of blue cheese pair beautifully with a decadent salty butter. Enjoy with a crusty piece of bread, on top of steak or mashed potatoes.
If you like blue cheese then you might just want to eat this by the spoonful! Those who are weary about blue cheese, TRUST ME when I say you have to give this a shot. Blue cheese can be earthy and bold on its own. But when blue cheese & butter are whipped together they become light, creamy and smooth with an underlying bold flavor making it the perfect addition to a warm baguette, sourdough, mash potatoes, steak, the options are ENDLESS of what you can put this on.
Ingredients for Whipped blue cheese Butter
This appetizer requires only four ingredients- you can always add on other toppings like hot honey, fig jam, caramelized onion jam - I think it is best topped with something sweet to balance out the bold flavors of the cheese.
Blue cheese
Salted butter
Heavy cream
Honey
The heavy cream might not seem necessary, but it makes this compound butter mixture light and airy. If you don’t use heavy cream your butter will still be delicious but might be on the thicker side.
You can make this ahead of time and store in your fridge for up to 3 days. It tastes best at room temperature so when you plan to serve it make sure to take it out of the fridge in advance.
