Pumpkin Baked Brie

This baked brie is wrapped with puff pastry and shaped like a pumpkin for a festive fall appetizer! Its baked until its golden and crispy on the outside but oozing warm cheese on the inside. It is the perfect gooey cheesy appetizer for any fall get together, Thanksgiving or harvest dinner party!

We all know as soon as fall hits that its immediately baked brie season. There is nothing better than oozy baked cheese during cozy season. It’s such a rich & decadent appetizer that will blow your guests away and little do they know that it is so easy to make and comes together in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients for pumpkin baked brie

This appetizer requires minimal ingredients and ones you might already have on hand in the fridge! You can use any jam you’d like whether it be pumpkin, rhubarb, anything else that is fall and seasonal but I love fig jam because it is always a crowd pleaser. Here’s your list of ingredients!

  • Brie cheese

  • Puff Pastry

  • Fig Jam (or jam of choice)

  • Egg

  • Crackers

  • Fresh Sage (for the pumpkin stem)

  • Baking Twine

You can prepare this ahead of time and then when your guests are on their way pop it into the oven to bake until golden brown and crispy! TIP for baking: when you take your brie out of the oven, let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting off the baking twine or else the shape will be lost on your baked brie pumpkin. It’s an easy recipe you will have on repeat this fall!

Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 20 MinTotal time: 30 Min

Ingredients

  • 8 oz brie cheese wheel
  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 2 tbsp fig jam
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Crackers (for stem and serving alongside)
  • Sage leaf (for stem)
  • Baking twine

Instructions

  1. First, heat your oven to 350 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make sure your puff pastry sheet is dethawed and then lay it out on the baking sheet.
  3. Add your fig jam in the middle of the puff pastry sheet and put your brie cheese wheel in the center
  4. Wrap up your cheese like a present- I fold in all the corners of the puff pastry to cover the entire brie cheese
  5. Take your bakers twine and cut 5 equal pieces long enough to wrap and tie around the brie. I find it easiest to first lay down the pieces of bakers twine in a star formation on top of one another and then put your brie cheese puff pastry present in the middle. Then wrap each piece of twine around and tie in a knot. Cut of the excess long pieces after cutting.
  6. Flip over your brie cheese puff pastry present and brush with egg wash (an egg cracker in a bowl and whisked- this will give it that golden crispy outside)
  7. Bake for 20 minutes (or until the top is golden brown)
  8. Serve alongside crackers or a baguette and enjoy warm!
